Listen Twice as Much as You Speak
Christianity has no quarrel with medicine, psychiatry, science, and or current events. We simply read the Bible and believe what it says. We have great respect for all the above. We value the truths that come from each. We want to cooperate with them if they do not conflict with the Word of God. The more that doctors, scientists, and great minds offer truth the more we like them in every respect. Many of them take a real interest in the truths of Holy Scripture, and we invite many more to the truth of God’s word. We are always ready to cooperate with them in the pursuit of truth.
God is always ready to pour His blessings into our hearts in generous measure. It is very similar to a gardener planting seed. The soil must be prepared before the seed is planted. My task as a pastor/Blogger is to help people prepare the soil of their hearts and minds. This preparation requires time spent with God in His Word, the Bible, and time spent alone with Him listening. The more you read His Word and listen for/to His voice you are preparing the soil of your mind and heart for His great blessings. He wants you to be useful in building His kingdom one soul at a time. As His blessings materialize, please use them to make your life fruitful for Him. We so often think life is all about us. He wants us to make Him the center of our lives. All of time and eternity is focused on Jesus Christ. When we understand that focus all things fall into place. I know I want all things in my life to fall into the
perfect place. How about you?
James 1.19-21 (CSB)
My dear brothers and sisters, understand this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to anger, for human anger does not accomplish God’s righteousness. Therefore, ridding yourselves of all moral filth and the evil that is so prevalent, humbly receive the implanted word, which is able to save your souls.
God gave us two ears and one mouth. He wants us to listen twice as much as we speak. I am smiling as I say this, but it is true. We get angry or annoyed because we do not get what we want. Things so often do not work out as we expect or desire. We get frustrated and even angry. Please remember that God has a perfect plan for our lives. Our plans and desires do not fit His plan at times. He makes changes. Take a deep breath and adjust your plans to His plans. There is no need for anger or frustration. He has a better plan always. Submit to Him and you will discover peace and power. When we set aside our plans and our will, we expel all moral filth and evil in our hearts. Now we can be open to His word and blessings. We all want to be saved, to go to heaven when we leave this life. That only happens through Jesus Christ. Say out loud Jesus Christ is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead and you will be saved.
